Nachricht: Dear Tes Freunde,
First I would like to apologise for writing in English, my German writing is not fantastic, however I can understand everything that is written in German so feel free to reply in German.
A small introduction as a new member of the forum.
My name is Hans Vermeersch and I am from Belgium.
I grew up between small motor yachts and boats since my father was running a production plant of outboard engines Evinrude & Johnson in Belgium. My sailboat experience is very limited.
I am looking to buy a small sailing yacht that is easy to sail and I have narrowed my list down to 2 boats, the tes 246 and the mariner 26 which I discovered on Boat 2020 in Dusseldorf.
If I would buy the 246 it would be the centreboard version with the outboard motor in well.
I would use the boat mainly on the Atlantic coast of France and later on the Mediterranean sea and canal du midi is also on my bucket list.
I would like to hear from you 246 owners & enthusiasts if you are happy with your boat and what you consider as must haves.
These are other questions I cannot make my mind up.
Sea toilet or chemical toilet?
Shower enclosure?
120kg centreboard or not? Stainless or not?
10hp outboard or 15hp.?
Bowtruster or not on a 7.5 m yacht?
Top loading or front loading fridge?
Which is the best place to sleep on the 246, in the V berth or under the cockpit?
Lockable front cabin?
Thank you for your time.
Best Regards
